I believe this shopping complex was named Harrogate or something like that, and according to a map I had seen at on time, had formerly been the site of a cemetery. This I believe was in Kensington. Can anyone confirm the name of that cemetery? He died of lead poisoning in the drinking water (another scandal of the era). May he rest in peace, wherever his remains may be. When I first visited the playground in '92 I met an old man who said he'd helped moved the remains in 1946. Then saw the records in the Historical Society and went out to Rosemount where I saw the plaque to those moved from Lafayette. Quite moving, even though it had no names. My great grandfather had his name on the family grave in London but that has been destroyed too!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9091026817968807873.post-37976970733212712992020-08-29T03:13:08.021-07:002020-08-29T03:13:08.021-07:00I often wonder if some of the neshaminy town homes...I often wonder if some of the neshaminy town homes were built over graves. If bensalem was founded in the late 1600's where did they bury their dead. Ues there are some really old quaker cemetaries around but not everyone who live here were quakers or buried their dead there. I only wonder beacause my house has had so many unexplained things happen in it that I will not go in it alone and my older children won't go in it at all. I have been renting it out here and there because I just dont want to stay there myself and i have put in so much work selling it would even have me break even. Just wondering if any other town home owners had had weird stuff going on. It's not soemthing you just casually ask your neighbor. According to the Philadelphia death certificates index, my great-great-grandfather George W. Kelly and his second wife, Sarah, had 4 babies that were buried at Lafayette Cemetery. At the time the parents were residing at 91 Moore Street, Ward 1. Meriam C Kelly, 24 June 1888, 10 months. Walter Kelly, 15 May 1890, 18 months. William Kelly and John Kelly, 2 June 1890, 1 day. The family also lost an 8 month old boy on 28 Oct 1892, but the death certificate index neglects to list his name and shows him buried at St. Mary's Cemetery. Given the missing name, can only wonder if the burial location is accurate.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-9091026817968807873.post-21219292197257468002016-10-16T14:07:37.298-07:002016-10-16T14:07:37.298-07:00Four of my ggg grandparents children were buried i...Four of my ggg grandparents children were buried in Franklin Cemetery.
